Q: What are the rules for renting (props, costumes, set pieces, etc.) from VCDS?
A: Vic students and student groups may rent props, costumes, or set pieces for no charge. You are responsible for paying a security deposit in the event of loss or damage to items. Both the primary and secondary rental contacts must be Vic students.
External students or groups may rent items. You are responsible for paying to rent individual items as well as a security deposit in the event of loss or damage.
All renters must arrange a time to meet with VCDS to view items by contacting [email protected]. You assume full responsibility for the care and maintenance of all rented items. You must obtain permission for all changes and alterations to rented items. You must ensure adequate transportation for all rented items. You must maintain consistent communication with VCDS for the duration of the rental and meet all agreements made with VCDS in good faith.
The value of all items will be determined by VCDS. Properties will be released to the renter upon the receipt of the security deposit. The security deposit will be returned upon the return of all items, on time and undamaged. VCDS reserves the right to retain the deposit while the conditions of the returned items are assessed, up to a week after the return date. VCDS can accommodate a renter's budget at the discretion of the Technical Directors and Chief Financial Officer.
Q: What are the guidelines for press at VCDS shows?
A: We allow Uof T-affiliated press to write and/or review any of our shows. Complimentary tickets will only be provided to one person (the person writing said article) and must contact [email protected] AND [email protected] before approval.
Due to copyright regulations, we limit the images captured and released of our productions. Photography/video and/or audio recordings of the performances are strictly prohibited. Having said this, if you wish to attend a dress rehearsal to take pictures, we ask that you not take any photos during the run of the performance. Additionally, these images must be approved by the Producers before publication/print.
While we appreciate any coverage, it is important that we also respect the privacy requests of VCDS members and any persons involved in any of our productions (both cast AND crew).
